November has sucked. Bad. I'm going to have to work really hard to complete the Couch 2 5K by January 1st (one of my goals). Eating-wise, I've done ok this month except for the past two days where I purposely just didn't care.

Now, I have to kick it back into gear.

Goals for this week:

  • Track ALL food
  • Curves for at least 3 days
  • Couch 2 5K, Week 5 (again)

Giving Thanks..............

First of all, it doesn't really feel like Thanksgiving to me. Is anyone else that way? This year has just gone by so fast!

Anyway, on this Thanksgiving Day, I'm thankful for.................

~ My family who loves me and supports me and can be so crazy that you just laugh.

~ My friends who know me and understand me.

~ My friend Meg............ she gets a special shoutout.......... who prays for me and lets me cry to her on the phone when I'm having a hard time. Who will encourage me and let me know it will be ok.

~ My cousin Heidi who lets me cry to her on the phone, too. And, who lets me be mean. Everyone should have just one person in their life that lets you get the ugly out. Who lets you vent and be sarcastic and be biting and who will laugh at the outrageous things you say. That way, you get it out and aren't like that with the rest of the world.

~ My bloggy friends (all of you!!) who let me into your lives and teach me.

~ A job that I love (even when I'm super frustrated). I get awesome opportunities and do what I've always wanted to do.

~ All my material blessings......... a comfortable house, yummy food, clothing, a car.

~ Facebook............ It sounds silly, but I'm thankful for a vehicle that keeps me connected with so many friends and family with whom I wouldn't otherwise stay in touch.

~ My church......... in the past year, I've grown to love that place and people more than ever. I've always gone and liked it, but it was more out of habit or because I knew I should. In 2010, my biggest change is that I want  to be there.

~ A healthy body....... it's not a perfect body, but it's a healthy one. One without ailments or required medications. It's a body that I can take to the gym and make healthier.

~ My Lord and Savior.

Happy Thanksgiving, Everyone!!!

One of many reason I love Christmas.....

The crazy Christmas lady at Target!!!

I love her.

I laugh hysterically when she comes on my TV screen.

I actually pushed "Play" on my computer when she was giving it a love pat to get me to watch the advertisement.

I'm going to now share her with you all..................

Super frustration............

So, I'm currently sitting at my desk, fighting back tears of frustration and the only place I can vent is here.

I love my job. I love the people I work for and with.

Let's get that out of the way.

However, sometimes I get so frustrated by the "status quo" that I feel like giving up.

There's this situation. A situation that has been the same for years and doesn't need to be. And, the situation could be changed, but I keep slamming myself up against brick walls every time I broach the subject.

As in, I walked into an office and before I could even get the question out was told, "No. Absolutely not."

Earlier this week, I was stunned at another person's though process relating to this situation. Someone, who before has raged against the machine and proclaimed how much support they have for the situation, completely turned the tables and I was literally left speechless.

I really want to scream at everyone who says they care, but clearly don't......... because if they did, this situation wouldn't exist.

And, I'm not being very specific or making any sense. But, unfortunately, that's the way it has to be on this public forum.

I love my job and I love the people I work for............ but, weeks like this where something I hold very dear is put on the line......... it seriously makes me want to just throw in the towel.

"As Long As We Got Each Other......"

Way back in the day, there was this little TV show called Growing Pains.

It followed the Seaver family.........

The main figure, the oldest son, the one whose exploits kept people watching was a boy named Mike. Mike Seaver and his portrayer Kirk Cameron graced the walls of teenage girls' bedrooms for years. He was cute, he was charming, he was everything we are and aren't supposed to want.

As Mike Seaver (and Kirk Cameron) began to mature (marginally), they decided to bring on a new good-bad boy...................

Hello Leo.

The Seavers have long moved onto other things. Kirk Cameron and his wife Chelsea Noble have moved their careers into Christian films. Ever since the movie Fireproof, Kirk and musician Warren Barfield have been travelling the country doing marriage seminars, Love Worth Fighting For. The seminars are promoted by a group called Feed Your Faith.

In October, my church was one of the establishments blessed enough to be a stop on the tour. For months, the buzz and excitement that Kirk Cameron would be at our church. ME, single me, was contemplating going to the MARRIAGE seminar just to see him.

Then, it was announced that he'd be talking on Sunday (after the Saturday seminars), so there was no need for me to be the lame single person at a marriage conference.

However, I was one of the lame people who brought a camera to Sunday church so I could sneak pictures during his talk.

His story was really great and I enjoyed listening to him speak! I was a HUGE Full House and wanted to be DJ Tanner/Candace Cameron when I was little, so I already knew a lot the backstory. It was really interesting to hear it from him, though.

Afterward, he signed autographs. Apparently, he has a policy of not taking pictures by himself with a woman that is not his wife. So, I settled for taking a picture with the gorgeous Lydia, lol...............

So many Christmas choices...........

Little fact about Jessica.........

I *LOVE* Christmas Cards. I love picking them out. I love writing little notes on them. I love addressing and stamping them. I love making a special trip to the Post Office just to mail them out.

Then, I love waiting for other cards to come in and wish me a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year. It's one of my favorite parts of the season.

I actually have this tradition that most of my friends get a kick out of...... for every friend that I have a picture with from that year, they get their own individual card of us on it. It takes a lot of time, but it's fun to go back and see all the memories that have been made throughout the year. Plus, they seem to like having a card that is unique and obviously took some thought.

The friends that I don't have pictures with? Well, those friends get a generic card with just plain, ole, smilin me on it.

That's where Shutterfly comes in!

They have SO many cards to choose from.............

Silly and fun................ yet very appropriate for a Florida girl, like me.

Classy and elegant..........

..... and everything in between!

Honestly and truly, Christmas cards are a huge tradition for me, even as a single girl. I can't even imagine what I'll be like when I have my own family to send everyone pictures of, lol.

The best part of all of this is that Shutterfly is offering 50 FREE CARDS to Bloggers! Awesome deal! Check it out, right here!

So, go get your Christmas Cards. Then, mail me one.

Because, I said so. :)

Prince David Turns 2!!!!

I've mentioned before that there's a family I love dearly. Meg and I went to school together from Kindergarten through 12th grade and remain best friends. When her older sister, Mia, started having kids, I became their main babysitter. Evan, Emma, Abby, and David are like the nieces and nephews I don't yet have. Well, Hannah, too, but she wasn't here yet.

In fact, Hannah's pending arrival was the reason that we celebrated David's 2nd birthday on October 2nd (his actual birthday is October 29th..... just like my mom's). Meg went with a Very Hungry Cattepillar theme and did SUCH a great job!

The birthday boy...........

Emma and David playing like the sweet cousins they are...... Apparently, Don wasn't playing nicely and was sent to play by himself, lol............

In the middle of the party, I decided to play photo shoot. E, E, and A are used to me and my camera. Ev and Ab aren't always up for it......... Em is ALWAYS up for it, lol.

Evan and I............ silly faces

Just a normal one.....

Suprised look........

Sweet Angelface and I.........

My Emma and I

Always up for silliness........

A group of crazies!!

Silly AND sweet.........

Abby (age 3) decided to play photographer, lol.

Meg had all sorts of games set up for them. One of them was a "cacoon" that they had to unravel to find their prize.........

Mia and I pause from the unravelling for a quick photo-op!

Back to the cacoons..........

All of them at once.............. except for David who is more interested in an unsupervised plate, lol.

I love this picture!...... They were just chilling and I grabbed the camera...... "Nana", Emma, Robyn (the youngest sister, with whom I also went to school), and Robyn's hubby Eric.

This pic of Meg and I is pretty much the only time I got to talk with her, lol. She was so busy playing hostess. Later on the next week, she called and said, "Everyone left and I realized I didn't even get to talk with you! I was so sad!"

And, Emma is in...........

Now, Abby joins the fray, lol.........

YAY!!! I get one with the birthday boy!!!

30-Day Blog Challenge - Day 30

Day 30 - A Picture

It's hard to believe we've hit the end of the 30-Day Blog Challenge! Thanks to Katie, for hosting it!

I know some people don't really like these things, but honestly, I probably would have gone ALL month without posting had I not done this. I still have posts waiting to be written, so I can document my fun times. Coming to my blog to do this kept reminding me to finish the posts I'd already started, lol.

Anyway, here are my chosen pictures............

I love this one........ I found it online this Spring when I was sad and just wanted a happy image. I ended up using it as my FB profile pic for a while.

We don't see this in Florida, but I like to pretend :)

Another image that we don't see in Florida, but I still love it! I love Christmas and the fact that the stores are getting all decked out! The other day, I was in Target and I stumbled upon their Christmas section. I immediately got happy. The next day, I was in WalMart.......... the holiday spirit all over the store almost had me skipping.

I love this, most of all. I love that this is the reason why I spend 3 months out of the year celebrating and anticipating Christmas, lol.

30-Day Blog Challenge - Day 29

Day 29 - 3 Wishes

1) That the scale and measuring tape will be kind when I get weighed and measured on Wednesday (and that the insatiable craving for chocolate will go away).

2) I'll get married before I'm 30 (or at least planning).

3) The holidays will be celebrated fully........ also known as "I won't be so busy that I can't enjoy my favorite time of year."

Life Is A Highway..........

So, back in September (the 25th), Rascal Flatts came to town. The week of the show, I found out I was going to have an influx of tickets. So, I called my good Bloggy friend Justine and asked if she and her husband would want to come. They accepted!

That night, we met up at the front gate. It was soooooooo great seeing her!

Chris Young was the first opening act. Kellie Pickler was supposed to be there, but got sick that day :(

He did a really good job! Honestly, though, we spent more time catching up than paying attention to CY, lol.

Rascal Flatts............................

They put on a good show. I'm not as fond of their newer stuff, so there were times I was disinterested. Also, the lead singer has a pretty week voice and has to take a lot of breaks. The last concert, the other two sang more of their hits. This time around there was a lot of musical interludes or silly talking. I could of done without that.

Regardless, it was a good show and a great opportunity to hang out with good friends!

Me and LA, at the end of the night (excuse the grossness)
