Operation 30

4/21 - 4/27 Workouts:

Sunday - Nada

Monday - 30 Day Shred (Level 2, Day 6)

Tuesday - 30 Day Shred (Level 2, Day 7), Week 7, Day 1 C25K, plus 15 minutes walking

Wednesday - 30 Day Shred (Level 2, Day 8)

Thursday  - 30 Day Shred (Level 2, Day 9), Week 7, Day 2 C25K, plus 50 minutes walking

Friday - Nada

 Saturday -  30 Day Shred (Level 2, Day 10), Week 7, Day 3 C25K, plus 10 minutes walking

Grade: B+ ....... I completed my workouts for the week, but not exactly on the planned days. I didn't drag myself out of bed early on Friday to workout and I had an event that evening, so it just didn't happen. The good news is that I made up The Shred on Saturday, while still doing C25K. Alone, that would have still earned me an A, but I ended the week with 22 weekly points, so I'm dropping myself down to a B.

Let's make some goals for this week......

1) Continue with 30 Day Shred and start Level 3 (M-F)
2) Complete Week 8 of the Couch 2 5K
3) Track all my points and stay within 30 weekly points.

Monday Musings

Yet another packed weekend just passed. It was a good one, but it was PACKED.

Friday night, was our cities' annual swan races. Long story, but it's a fun event. Last year, FD and I raced..... him with a bum knee (that he eventually got surgery on) and me with a stomach flu (I hadn't eaten in two days). We still beat three other teams, which I thought was a major coup. This year? Two perfectly healthy men in our swan and they came in last.

Two of my DJs getting ready to race a swan. They got killed.

FD and BSG were there. :/ I'm killing this girl with kindness, but she basically acts like she wishes I weren't. They really are the most awkward couple I've ever seen......... and, at this point, it has been a year.

How much longer is this going to last???

Anyway, my favorite part of the evening was running into this beautiful lady....

Kelley is our former youth pastor's wife. I haven't seen her in forever and I miss her SO much. She is one of the few people that are/were from my church that I feel like I can be real and imperfect with. We chatted for a little bit, with promises of a night out soon. Seriously made my night.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Saturday, the 21 and ups had a Girls Day.... We went to a winery that was having a little festival. Super fun. Then, we did lunch at Cracker Barrel, went home and napped, I scrubbed my bathroom from ceiling to floor, worked out for two hours, and then had a movie night with the girls.
I personally was proud of how much I got accomplished in one day.
Our tasting cups.......
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

Yesterday, I went with Billie Jo and two of her sisters to a big Bridal Show. It was fun, but there were NOT enough cake/food vendors. Seriously, for every one cake vendor, there were two DJ services, two florists, a photobooth rental, and three photographers. Not enough cake. I mean, isn't that really why we go to those things?

While I do love a good photobooth.....

My favorite vendor, by far, was a company that has photographers take photos throughout the reception and then turns them all into magnets for your guests to take as they leave....

Also, I thought this centerpiece was so pretty.....

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Did anyone watch the season finale of  'The Good Wife' last night?
Somehow, I *knew* who was going to be on the other side of that door when she opened it, at the end.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

I'm so happy that it's May Sweeps and all the good stuff is happening on TV, but it also means they are all ending.

At least I have 'So You Think You Can Dance' and 'The Bachelorette' coming on soon, right?

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
I have decided that far too many men in this world are spineless jellyfish. Like, for real.
Operation 30
4/14 - 4/20 Workouts:
Sunday - Nada
Monday - 30 Day Shred (Level 2, Day 1)
Tuesday - 30 Day Shred (Level 2, Day 2), Week 6, Day 1 C25K, plus 10 minutes walking
Wednesday - 30 Day Shred (Level 2, Day 3)
Thursday  - 30 Day Shred (Level 2, Day 4), Week 6, Day 2 C25K, plus 15 minutes walking
Friday - 30 Day Shred (Level 2, Day 5)
 Saturday -  Week 6, Day 3 C25K, plus 60 minutes walking and an additional 11 minutes jogging
Here's the funny thing about Saturday. My sister and I were planning to walk, so I decided to get C25K out of the way before she came over. 11 minutes into my jog, I accidentally reset the whole jog. In a burst of insanity, I decided to just complete the whole thing over again, which made my jog a total of 33 minutes. GO ME! When she came over, we walked for an hour. Sufficiently tired for the day, I decided to forgo my Jillian Michaels and start that back up on Monday.
Grade: A+!!!! ....... I'm super proud of myself! I made it a point to work out and HARD. Point-wise, I ended the week with 32 Weekly Points.
Let's make some goals for this week......
1) Continue with 30 Day Shred and complete Level 2 (M-F)
2) Complete Week 7 of the Couch 2 5K
3) Track all my points and stay within 30 weekly points.
Monday Musings
Happy Monday, Everyone! I hope you had a great weekend :)
Mine was busy, but good.
Friday night, I went  to see Michael Winslow perform. He was in the 'Police Academy' movies and is known for his voices and sounds. To be perfectly honest, I'd never heard of him before, but some friends invited me, so I went. He was great!!! So entertaining!
Horrible pic, but Michael Winslow and I....
 Saturday night, I went to see Taylor Swift..... again. Another, longer post to be coming.....
Yesterday, I went blueberry picking for the first time ever. It was actually really relaxing.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

This morning, I had a dentist appointment. As I was leaving, this lady was coming in and had a full face of make-up.

I don't know why you would do that if your appointment was prior to work. I felt like my face got a rewashing just during the cleaning. My make-up would have surely been ruined.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
The past couple of weeks were AWESOME workout and eating weeks.
Then, yesterday? PMS happened.
I was like a ravenous wolf that couldn't be contained.
Meanwhile, as I'm searching for more chocolate, my brother mentions that he's lost 15 lbs in three weeks and he's not even sure why or how.
If I wasn't in such desperate need of candy at that very moment, I would have punched him.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

I'm placing a Scentsy order this week. If you want something prior to Mother's Day, let me know!

They also have a great Mother's Day package going on right now......

I'm currently in the midst of a 6-Pack challenge. So, if you are in need of NEW scents, hit me up! The 6-Packs are Buy 5, Get the 6th free, so you get all 6 for $25 (plus tax).

Random Thursday: Make-Up

I'm not exactly a cosmetologist or even a heavy make-up wearer (on most weekends, I don't wear a spec), but I've gotten down a routine over the past couple years. Usually, I get complimented on my make-up... that it looks natural, blah, blah, blah.

Before I get down to the specifics, I feel the need to point out that I have three make-up bags. They are filled with the exact same products.... one for my house, one for my car, and one for my office. The house bag actually does have a LOT more in it (my different eyeshadows, a couple of specialty eyeliners, etc), but I use that one less. Typically, I do my make-up on my way to work or when I first get there.

Also to note....... I'm completely disloyal to any one brand, but completely set on these certain products. If I deviate, it is only because they have discontinued the product. I'm a drugstore mish-mash.

Skincare........

When I was about 24, my previously acne-free skin exploded on me. I had to go to Proactiv and have kept up with it. I only do the whole regimen in the mornings. I follow up with Oil of Olay for Combo/Oily Skin SPF 15.

Or, if I'm being really lazy, I use Neutrogena Night Time Make-Up Remover Cloths.

A couple times a month, I will do a deep cleaning mask. I really like the Refining Mask from Proactiv.

Make-up........

I *swear* by this!!! I *ONLY* use Revlon Colorstay Overtime. My typical color is Infinite Raspberry. Some of my coworkers are constantly reapplying their lipstick. Once I put this stuff on, it is ON for the rest of the day. If I do put some more on in the evening, it doesn't come off until I shower in the morning. Once, I was on a cruise with some friends. I'd reapplied my make-up before dinner.... the next morning, my friend Amy wanted to know if I had put on lipstick prior to showering or if my lipstick was really that good.

For eyeliner, I typically use whatever black liner I can find first on that particular trip. That is the only thing I don't have a preference with. Also, I do have a couple of specialty eyeliners that go with the I-Color Series.

Those are my daily staples. If I'm dressing up or going to a special event, I will add eye shadow. I use the Almay Intense I-Color Series. I use the colors for Blues.

Q&A - Ask Away!

I did this a couple years ago and thought it might be fun to do, again.

Also? I'm procrastinating at work and wanted a distraction.

Anything you want to know about me? Questions about various events/people/etc in my life?

Please.... Ask!

Operation 30

4/7 - 4/13 Workouts:

Sunday - 30 Day Shred (Level 1, Day 4) and Walked 45 minutes

Monday - 30 Day Shred (Level 1, Day 5)

Tuesday - 30 Day Shred (Level 1, Day 6), Week 5, Day 1 C25K, plus 10 minutes walking

Wednesday - 30 Day Shred (Level 1, Day 7)

Thursday  - 30 Day Shred (Level 1, Day 8), Week 5, Day 2 C25K, plus 15 minutes walking

Friday - 30 Day Shred (Level 1, Day 9)

 Saturday - 30 Day Shred (Level 1, Day 10), Week 5, Day 3 C25K, plus 10 minutes walking

Grade: A+!!!! ....... I'm super proud of myself! Several days this week were busy, but I still made it a point to work out and HARD. Point-wise, I ended the week with 26 Weekly Points. Not exactly my goal, but I'll take it.

I weighed myself and lost 3 lbs this past week. Mainly because this is the first time in months that I've worked out hard AND eaten well in the same week, lol. I'm thinking/hoping that I'll start to level out at 1.5-2 lbs a week.

Let's make some goals for this week......

1) Continue with 30 Day Shred - I decided to take a day off between levels, so I didn't do anything on Sunday. I started Level 2 on Monday.
2) Complete Week 6 of the Couch 2 5K
3) Track all my points and stay within 30 weekly points.

Monday Musings

I'm so tired today. And, in a foul mood.

No particular reason for the foulness. Just foul

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Just for the record..... I am a Virgo. This morning, I actually got told that I was a Leo and that I was mistaken in thinking I was a Virgo.
Not that I really give much credance to all of that, but I believe I would know my own sign.
My birthday is August 25th. That makes me a Virgo.
(Also.... the owner of our company whose birthday is August 23rd? He's a Virgo, too, despite the same people also claiming he was a Leo.)
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

Saturday was Bridal Party Day for Billie Jo. I still haven't blogged about her engagement story, but we just had so much fun on Saturday and picked out the prettiest dresses.

We are going with the coral color (on the left), which will be sooooo pretty. I really like the soft pink in the dress I tried on, too. I guess if I'm ever in need of a soft, light pink dress, I know where to go to get one, lol.

OH! And, I found out that I'm Maid of Honor! I'm pretty sure it is so that she didn't have to choose between her three sisters, but I'm still honored/excited and will take it!

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
 So, I 100% waited until the last day to do my taxes.
Here's hoping for refunds for everyone!
Random Thursday Times Two
So, last week, I had my Random Thursday all ready to go. Only, when I checked into my own blog on Friday night, stupid Blogger never published my post! Thus, you are getting two weeks of Randoms in one. I worked really hard last Wednesday to remember to take these random documentations of my day, darnit.
This week........
Normally, I would try to find pictures of all these things, but since I have a bunch of pics below, we will go without.......
Thursday Nights on ABC - Specifically from 9p - 11p. 'Grey's Anatomy' and 'Scandal' are must-sees every week. So, really, I'm just addicted to Shonda Rimes' genius.
Tervis Cups - No joke.... I personally have about 8 in varying sizes. I carry two of them in with me, everyday. One for coffee and one for water.
'General Hospital' - And, 'All My Children'..... I was ADDICTED-probably-should-have-sought-counseling for years. Over the past several years, I've been a now-and-then watcher. However, with the return of AMC online and the 50th Anniversary of GH, I've found myself hooked again.
Lauren Conrad - Basically, anytime I walk into Kohl's, I walk out with a pair of LC heels or dress or top.
New York & Company - At this point, about half my wardrobe is from NY&C. I am constantly wearing their super-soft jeggings (so.stinking.soft.and.comfy.and.flattering.). Their camis and cardigans are a work staple for me. Plus? They have ridiculous sales. You can get clothes cheaper there than at WalMart.
Vera Bradley - Keeping in mind that I haven't bought anything new in a while (a long while, now that I think about it), basically every accessory I own is VB. If you looked in my (VB) purse, you would find six other VB items (wallet, keychain, change purse, etc) all in different patterns.
Those are the addictions I can think of. And? I consider it personal success that I can't say I'm addicted to anything food related. That is HUGE for me.
 7:30 am - Finally stop hitting 'snooze' and get out of bed. Make said bed and hop in the shower.
8:15 am - Pack gym bag.....
..... outfit of the day......
8:40 am - Grab my water and coffee and head out the door for work
9 am - Get into my office, turn on computer, and start going through emails. Take phone calls, collect contest sheets from my morning shows, and get all the prizes down to the front desk.
9:45 am - Chill for a minute (again) as two coworkers decide to stop in my office for social time (again..... this happens frequently in my office, especially in the mornings)
10:30 am - Head out for a client meeting......
Yep.... This is how I feel about said client meeting.......
12:30pm - Meet Billie Jo for lunch
1:30pm - Back to work. Gorgeous view walking into the backside of the building, huh?
2pm - My intern A shows up for the day. After a brief catch-up, we both start handling various odd jobs. Thankfully, it's a fairly slow week with only one major promotional event (which requires no paperwork!!).
5pm - I cut A loose early and wait for 5:30.
5:30pm - Head home!!!
7pm - Decide to skip the gym in favor of celebrating my BIL's promotion!!! He found out that afternoon and we all decided to go to a delicious hole-in-the-wall-but-local-treasure BBQ place.....
One of my favorite things about this place.... They serve endless bowls of pickles, lol.
9pm - Home and on the couch.... Watch a recorded NCIS and catch up on reading blogs.
10:30pm - Bedtime!!!
Things People Say.....
We all know it. Those questions people ask or things they say when they are trying to be helpful, but basically make you cringe. I read posts every so often that relate to pregnancy or parenting, but we all fall victim to intrusive inquiries.
Here's the thing....... Unless you COMPLETELY catch me off guard, I'm going to have some sort of sarcastic comeback to it. Not to hurt anyone's feelings, but if they ask, they should be prepared for whatever answer I give, right?
For example.... A couple weeks ago, we were at a family function. LOTS of family there. My cousin, my Great-Aunt Dot, and I were in the kitchen. Aunt Dot asked it..... "So, Jessie when are you going to get married?"
Keep in mind.... Aunt Dot is the sweetest, most complimentary woman you will ever meet. Every time she sees me, she tells me how pretty I am....... even at my largest, she thought I was beautiful. So, she doesn't mean anything bad about it, but she still asked. At which point, Heidi's head popped up and she couldn't contain the smile in anticipation of what was about to come out of my mouth....
"Well, Aunt Dot. I don't know. In order to get married, I have to find someone who wants to marry me back."
(laughing) "Well, why can't you find one that wants to marry you?"
"Because, there are a lot of stupid men out there."
Heidi later said that she loves and hates when they ask those questions. Hates because it's one of "those" questions, but loves because I always return the question with something ridiculous.
Other responses have included (but are not limited to)....
"When Men 'R' Us has a half off sale."
"I'm not. I'm considering becoming a nun."
"Shhhh.... I'm secretly married, but no one knows."
"I'm not sure, but I could give you a couple of guys' numbers and you could ask them." (Thanks for that one, Meg!)
Beyond the marriage question, there are a lot of fun weight questions/comments/suggestions......
"So, are you still losing?"....... "My weight - not this week. My mind - All the time."
"Have you been to the gym lately?"....... "Nope. I was too busy out looking for you."
"You know. This salad (from Olive Garden) is much healthier for you than that Minestrone Soup."..... "Really? That is so odd. I could have sworn that these vegetables and beans were better for me than iceberg lettuce and dressing, but thanks for setting me straight."
"You don't need to lose another 30 lbs. You'll be too skinny.".... "Thanks for saying that, but how about I lose 30 and if you still think I look too skinny I'll slowly adjust up?"
"Your boobs are getting too small for my liking." (this one came from a male coworker, mind you).... "Well, then I guess it's a good thing that you liking the size of my boobs isn't my concern."
