A few weeks ago (5/14), the Country Throwdown Tour came to my neck of the woods.
We had a promotion that morning there, so I got there at about 9:30am and just stuck around for the rest of the day. The gates opened at 1pm and the festival started at 2pm, so I hung with my friend (and record rep) S. My friends and coworkers started trickling in, throughout the afternoon.
Seriously, at one point I was walking through the amphitheatre and every seat was empty. COOLEST thing ever. S and I both agreed that an empty theatre is even more chilling than a packed one.
Eli Young Band
Before the main stage opened, they had acts rotating on two side stages. There were about 12 acts, altogether.
Jonathan Singleton
My favorite part of the day was the Bluebird Cafe Songwriters' Tent. In Nashville, the Bluebird Cafe is famous for being the start of many songwriters and/or singers careers. For the tour, they have various songwriters performing and sharing some of their music.
Sarah Buxton and Jed Hughes
It was kind of a busy day. Lots of walking around and many ridiculous attempts NOT to get sunburned. I had make-up on at the beginning of the day, but it was gone by noon, lol.
Eric Church and I
Back to the Songwriters' Tent.... Heather Morgan and Walker Hayes
LA and I........ with G creeping in the background.
G and J....... I would have taken a picture with them, but they make fun of my photo shoots.
The gang with Little Big Town
Funny thing about the Throwdown Tour..... the same people do the Warped Tour and RockStar Energy Drinks sponsors both. Well, with the WT, there were unlimited supplies of RockStar backstage. To the point that everyone started complaining because they just wanted water and couldn't take endless engery drinks.
RockStar, of course, wanted everyone to be seen drinking their drinks, so they started putting water in cans. Backstage, there were buckets and buckets of canned water. I loved it, but my friends thought it was weird, lol.
Little Big Town were my favorite performance of the night....... I barely paid attention (or just plain didn't) to the other main stage performers.
LA, me, and our new friend M........ we ADORE M. She is quite possibly one of the most awesome people we've ever met. In fact, we're trying to plan a trip up to Nashville to visit her.
LA and I being idiots. Throughout the day, we collected all of these wristbands..... Meet & Greets, Backstage Access, etc. Towards the end of the night, it became comical how many wristbands we had on, lol.
