Edward vs Jacob
I'm going to admit something. I went to see New Moon at midnight with all the obsessed fans, lol. My friend Jenn is literally obsessed with Edward Cullen and recruited a group of us to join her.
It actually was a lot of fun, lol. I about peed my pants when Jenn found out that the special cups at the theater were hard/reusable and then proceeded to buy everyone a drink, so that she could have a full set.
You may or may not remember my review of Twilight.
I still don't like Kristin Stewart as Bella. Sorry. I think she's a horrible Bella.
From the interviews I've seen of her, she acts in real life like she does in the films. This leads me to believe that she's not actually acting, but merely reciting lines and biting her bottom lip.
That said, I adored the movie!! Much better than the first!
You could tell that the budget was bigger and everyone knew they had to put 100% into New Moon. The acting was spot-on (except for the above mentioned) and the effects were great, too.
Keep in mind, please, I love Edward and totally feel he and Bella are meant to be together. However, I am a huge Jacob fan. The movie only increased that Jacob love, lol. It's a little sad that my mid 20-something friends were drooling over him in the theater (IRL, he's 17).
Definitely go out and see it!!

One degree of Kevin Bacon
Seriously..............
... um, yeah. That's Kevin Bacon.
He and his brother have a band and were performing at our local theatre. They came by the radio station to do interviews on two of the stations.
J interviewing the Bacon Brothers....
I mean, really.... KEVIN BACON!!!!!!!
One more time, for posterity.....
"Goin Out With My Boots On"
First things first....
THANK YOU for the prayers for Ninny! She is home and doing SO well! She's on medicine to try to prevent another stroke from happening and they are keeping tabs on her, with follow-up appts. However, she's home and almost back to "normal."
Wednesday, we had another concert at Music Ranch.... Randy Houser. It was actually the last in our four part concert series. We wrapped it up by asking our listeners to bring new toys for Toys for Tots. We collected SOOOO many toys!! Very exciting!

The gang thanking everyone for coming and introducing Randy Houser
"Jennings would have kicked your &*$"
Randy actually brought his full band. SO AWESOME.
LA and I.... I wish everyone on the planet was able to hear LA's commentary on life. The girl keeps me in stitches, lol.
This little boy just so happens to look like the little boy in Randy's "Boots On" video. Randy was like, "Come on up, buddy!"
This is where I have the COOLEST video that I'm still trying to get Blogger to upload. Stupid, Blogger.
For those of you who know the song and know me, lol, "Boots On" basically describes everything I'm not attracted to. The song rocks, but it's a huge joke at work - "That's going to be your husband, Jess. A dirty old hat.... Copenhagen ring... your husband, for sure."
J always sings, "JESS-I-CA! I'm goin' out with my boots on!" She's got some of our coworkers doing this, too, lol. Seriously, this has been going on for almost a year.
Well, she got Randy to sing it, too, lol!!! On-stage and everything. It was hysterical. I have it on video, but dumb Blogger won't cooperate :(

Pray for Ninny, please
Hi everyone... I'm blogging today to ask that you pray for my mom's mom.... my Ninny.
She's been in the hospital for the past week with H1N1 (aka "Swine Flu"). That was a little nerve-wracking, but she was doing well. They had her quarantined, so we couldn't go see her.
Well, this morning, she had a stroke. Thanks be to God that she was already in the hospital, because they caught it almost immediately. They were able to get the proper medicine in her.
She's in the ICU, right now. Already, she seems to be doing better. She's talking very clearly. She couldn't move her left side or even move her eyes to the left earlier today. However, when I was able to visit her, she already was able to look to the left. She also can move her left leg and her left fingers. She is still weak, but making great progress.
I'll be honest.... it scared me to death. Ninny and my mom (and other family members) have a lot of medical issues. Someone from my family is always being admitted. To be honest, I've become pretty desensitized to it. Call it a defense or coping mechanism... call it selfishness... I don't know what to call it, but it rarely phases me, anymore. However, it was alarming that she was put in the hospital for H1N1. That was nothing compared to getting the call that she'd just had a stroke.
Like I said, she's doing well. They are still assessing the damage from the stroke and trying to figure out why/where it happened. More importantly, they are doing everything possible to prevent a 2nd stroke. They suspect that H1N1 might be a factor.
Please do me a favor and add Ninny to your prayers in the next few days.

A 9 year old miracle.
This week was crazy busy (did you see my Weekly Workout Blog?... sad). Not only is it the start of the holidays, but we gave away a car on Saturday. It's been so stressful, that when it was all over, I was ready to chill.
What's the best way to de-stress? Spend time with some of your favorite people.
Evan is turning 9 years old this week and Saturday afternoon was his party. We met at this gorgeous nature reserve in town (that I didn't even know existed, lol). Evan wanted to geo-cache, so that is what the kids and some of the adults did for the first part of the party. The rest of us showed up for the food, lol.
When I got there, I was greeted by a super hug from the Abster. There is nothing in the world like a happy little face running to you and jumping into your arms for a big hug.
Abby takes a couple seconds out of her busy schedule to snuggle with "Aunt Meg"
How cool is this cupcake cake?!
Meg with her sweet baby boy. Sometimes, it still blows my mind that we're at the "baby stage" in life. Well, they are, lol... I'm still not at the "marriage stage."
I always wanted a rock tumbler...
Emma with her chocolate on chocolate cupcake. Give this girl an option and she will ALWAYS choose the most chocolate possible, lol.
David and Daddy
Abby-doodle has a better way of eating a cupcake...
Aunt Meg and Uncle James got Evan a Chemistry set. I swear, this child is smarter than I'll ever be.
He also got his own GPS.... see, I told you... way smarter.
Life is all about moments like this....
and this....
and this...
We weren't sure what they were planning, but it looks like trouble, lol.
Then, they decided that making David laugh by growling would be better.
Here's where the miracle part come in. Evan is a twin.... he was born very prematurely and his brother Ethan was called up to Heaven. Each birthday, they send balloons up to wish Ethan a Happy Birthday.
