Trevor Update and a few extras

A few things have happened since we last chatted about Trevor......

Two weeks ago, the insurance company called. They were NOT thrilled with the "wait and see" method. At all. So, they had him referred to All Children's Hospital in St. Pete.

Last Tuesday, he went for an initial appt and exam. Yesterday, he went in for another appt....... he goes tomorrow to have a portable heart montior put on. The next day, he'll go back after 24 hours have passed and they'll do a bunch of stress tests, etc on him. Eventually (within the next month), he'll undergo another procedure (similar to the one he went through at our hospital) to see if they can pinpoint where the exact problem is and fix it.

Depending on these tests, procedures, etc, he may walk out of there 100% better. They've also mentioned that they may need to continue montoring him and exploring other treatments. Another option they've mentioned (this is just in the most extreme case) is that they may eventually refer him to the Mayo Clinic in.......... wait for it.......... Minne-friggin-sota.

All of it is still up in the air, but we're glad that something is being done. We weren't very fond of the "wait and see" method, either.

Thanks for praying for him and please continue to keep him lifted up. It is more appreciated than I can EVER say!!!

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Next up........ some randomness...........
1) I am very proud of myself today. I got up this morning a full hour before I normally do and walked 2 1/2 miles. This may never happen, again, but I'm still proud.
2) I don't know if it is a brief period of insanity or if I'm actually on the right track, but I've been outright spectacular over the past 3 days with my eating and exercising. Like, amazingly so. I'm hoping that the switch that was flipped this weekend stays that way and I'm able to keep this up.
3) I fully realized last night that I have ONE year before my ten-year reunion. Last night, I went to my alma mater's graduation. A couple of my classmates had siblings that were graduating....... I remember when they were entering Kindergarten, lol. It hit me, "Holy cow, I was sitting there nine years ago......... Holy cow, next year it will be ten years........ HOLY COW, Trev will be walking across that stage next year!!!"
4) #3 may have something to do with #1 and #2, lol.
5) Sitting in that graduation, I remembered just why I loved my high school as much as I did and still do. It is a phenomenal institution and I am so blessed to have gone there. If I'm still in my town when I have kids, they ARE going there.
6) Tonight, I'm going out to eat with my best friends from high school. Mich (whom we haven't seen in 4 years) is visiting and we're getting together for dinner. I'm SO excited!!! Meg will definitely be there..... I'm crossing my fingers and praying that Ash and Shannon will be able to come.  Again, sitting in that ceremony last night, I saw those graduates and the love/connection that they shared. That was US. We were the 5 Musketeers in HS. I was in all of their weddings. Hopefully, they'll be in mine. We've grown and changed and no longer see each other 6 out of 8 class periods a day, but the love and connection is still there.
7) New thing learned............ all of you may already know this and I may be the sole idiot on the face of the planet. See, I live in Florida. The humidity is insane. Yet, I still have dry and flaky skin. I've always wondered why. Also, I hate lotion because it makes my skin feel weird. Then, I learned something the other day............ putting your lotion on right after you've gotten out of the shower and are still damp and your skin is still soft works wonders. The weirdness isn't there and my skin literally stays soft until the next day. Amazing, I tell you.
Random Question Sunday........
Getting to know YOU
The questions.....
1. If a person has a booger in their nose. and you can see it, do you tell them?
If it's someone I know and am fairly close with, I will. After I've tried to contain giggles. What can I say..... I laugh inappropriately at juvenile things.
2. What are you passionate about?
My family, friends, and work, mainly.
3. How long have you been blogging?
Two years in September! In the first day, I wrote two posts..... here and here.
4. What is your favorite "summer" drink?
Water, Tea, and the occasional Strawberry Daiquiri
5. What is your favorite type of music?
Country and Pop (which covers a lot, I know)......... I like pretty much everything but heavy metal and the hardcore (read: nasty) rap.
6. Something I do before I go to bed is......?
Go potty, wash hands, brush teeth, and check my alarm about 3 times.
7. My Summer vacation plans are...?
Besides work......... I will eventually take a vacation. I don't know when, though.... I need to work on this. See, I have a limited amount of time when I can take off. We have what are called "Books"..... ratings periods.... that are three months long each (plus prep time). I can't take off during the Book or during prep time. That leaves about 4 months total out of the year for me to take my 2 weeks.
That said, I need to really sit down and figure out when I'm taking off and what I'm going to do.
8. My favorite must have, can't live without, beauty product is?
My ProActiv, especially the Green Tea Moisturizer and Refining Mask.
It allows me to go out in public without make-up (which I try to do as much as possible).
Eh.... Monthly Workout Blog???
So, I have been working out and tracking food and such. I just haven't been posting it on here.
I know weight flucuates throughout the week, the day even. I'm just getting really frustrated with myself because I can't seem to break a certain barrier. I've got to start seeing some real progress, soon. Part of that means a real commitment to working out. I go, 2-3 times a week, but I know that's not what it takes for my body to shed weight. In order for me to see results, it has to be 4-6 times per week. I hate it, but it's the way it is.
Week 48 (May 2 - 8)
I went to Curves on Monday. On Thursday, I went to the Y and did the Elliptical and Treadmill.
So didn't reach my goals, but tis life.
Week 49 (May 9 - 15)
I went to Curves on Wednesday. Granted, I was sick this week.
Week 50 (May 16 - 22)
I went to Curves on Monday and Tuesday.
Good point this week:  I started seeing that I was getting better. Curves has a program that tracks your progress on each machine, how many calories you've burned, etc. When I first started the program, I was still teaching dance 3 nights a week, so I was pretty strong. Since the studio closed (18 months ago), there has definitely been a decline in my strength and overall fitness. This particular week (I'm not sure why), there was some sort of breakthrough. My majority "yellow" marks suddenly turned all "green." I've yet to have a full green day, again, but they are majority green with few yellows. That's better than the other way around.
Week 51 (May 23 - 29)
On Tuesday, I went to Curves and walked the lake (3 miles). On Friday, I went to Curves.
Week 52 (May 30 - June 5)
That's right, I've officially accounted for my workout (or non-workout as the case has sometimes been) routine for an entire year.
This week has been pretty good and I intend to keep it that way! In order for me to meet my long-term goals, I need to start forcing myself to meet the short-term ones!
Tuesday - Curves
Wednesday - Curves
Friday - Curves
Saturday - Walked for 50 mins.
Goals for this upcoming week:
  • Track ALL food
  • Curves at least 3 times (this is in line with a Challenge they're having at the gym)
  • Treadmill/Walk at least twice
Bonus points if.....
  • I make it to the Y and get on an Elliptical.
  • I make it to a Zumba class.
  • I do pilates.
"Lover, lover, lover...."
One of the first listener shows I ever went to (way back in the day) was with Blue County and this guy called Jerrod Niemann. I'd actually met him in Memphis a couple months earlier while visiting St. Jude and then he came by on a radio tour.
He was a super nice guy, awesome singer, good-looking, and gave great hugs.
He had a silly song (which is on my IPod) as a single and then disappeared off the radar for a couple years. This Spring, he's with a new label and has a single that's climbing the charts.
Not my video (obviously).......... no copyright infringement intended.
Last Wednesday, I missed the live finale of 'American Idol' because Mr. Jerrod came back to treat us and our listeners, lol.
His voice is one of my favorites. J and I just kept saying to each other, "Man, his voice is awesome."
I'm sorry, but I think the man is just plain pretty, lol.
G trying to be as cute and charming, lol. Jerrod still give super great hugs, which a group of us females were gushing over (He really does..... I don't know what makes them so amazing, but they just are). Poor G got a bit dejected and mumbled, "I need to work on my hugs."
It's a Throwdown!
A few weeks ago (5/14), the Country Throwdown Tour came to my neck of the woods.
We had a promotion that morning there, so I got there at about 9:30am and just stuck around for the rest of the day. The gates opened at 1pm and the festival started at 2pm, so I hung with my friend (and record rep) S. My friends and coworkers started trickling in, throughout the afternoon.
Seriously, at one point I was walking through the amphitheatre and every seat was empty. COOLEST thing ever. S and I both agreed that an empty theatre is even more chilling than a packed one.
Eli Young Band
Before the main stage opened, they had acts rotating on two side stages. There were about 12 acts, altogether.
Jonathan Singleton
My favorite part of the day was the Bluebird Cafe Songwriters' Tent. In Nashville, the Bluebird Cafe is famous for being the start of many songwriters and/or singers careers. For the tour, they have various songwriters performing and sharing some of their music.
Sarah Buxton and Jed Hughes
It was kind of a busy day. Lots of walking around and many ridiculous attempts NOT to get sunburned. I had make-up on at the beginning of the day, but it was gone by noon, lol.
Eric Church and I
Back to the Songwriters' Tent.... Heather Morgan and Walker Hayes
LA and I........ with G creeping in the background.
G and J....... I would have taken a picture with them, but they make fun of my photo shoots.
The gang with Little Big Town
Funny thing about the Throwdown Tour..... the same people do the Warped Tour and RockStar Energy Drinks sponsors both. Well, with the WT, there were unlimited supplies of RockStar backstage. To the point that everyone started complaining because they just wanted water and couldn't take endless engery drinks.
RockStar, of course, wanted everyone to be seen drinking their drinks, so they started putting water in cans. Backstage, there were buckets and buckets of canned water. I loved it, but my friends thought it was weird, lol.
Little Big Town were my favorite performance of the night....... I barely paid attention (or just plain didn't) to the other main stage performers.
LA, me, and our new friend M........ we ADORE M. She is quite possibly one of the most awesome people we've ever met. In fact, we're trying to plan a trip up to Nashville to visit her.
LA and I being idiots. Throughout the day, we collected all of these wristbands..... Meet & Greets, Backstage Access, etc. Towards the end of the night, it became comical how many wristbands we had on, lol.
