Bloggy Awards

In the past week or so, I've been awarded with some fun blog awards! Thanks!

Gina from Namaste By Day awarded me the Versatile Blogger Award.

If you've never gone to Gina's blog, please do. I found her blog when I had my first bloggy meet-up and we were all talking about various blogs we liked. They all kept gushing about her blog and her as a person, so I went home and checked it out.

Since then, Gina has been an absolute blessing!!! I adore her blog.... her posts about her teaching and her son and her addiction to exercise and so much more are always fun and inspirational. She's also been so kind to endure email after email about the whole TG situation. Gina has offered up some of the best advice.... to the point that I now call her my Yoda (in my head).

The rules are that I have to share 7 things about myself that I haven't already. I think we've pretty much covered it all, but I'll try....

1) I hate hotdogs. Hate them. Ironically, the only time I eat them is at Emma's birthday parties. The past two years, I've gone to her party starving and they are serving hotdogs. Most of the time, I'd just wait to eat, but I'm just THAT hungry. So, in the past two years, I've eaten two hotdogs..... both times, it was at Emma's party, lol. (Mia, if you read this..... please don't be offended..... apparently, I love your hotdogs because I've eaten them twice... or, I just love you and your family enough to eat a hotdog.... regardless, I love you guys, lol)

2) When I was a little kid, I hated Mac and Cheese. Wouldn't touch it. I finally got to the point where I would eat Velvetta Shells and Cheese or some homemade M&C. To this day, I won't go near that nasty powdered crap. I'll eat homemade Mac & Cheese or fresh Velvetta Shells, but that's it.

3) I wanted to audition for "The Mickey Mouse Club" when I was little, but you had to be at least 11. My mom promised me that I could audition when I was old enough, but they cancelled the show the year I was old enough to audition. I was devastated, lol.

4) My friend Meg is having her second baby! About a month ago, I had an intense dream that she was having a girl and that she named her a certain name. Well, this past week, she found out she was indeed having a girl. I'm DYING to find out if I'm right about the name (Meg and James don't tell the name until the baby is born). I hope I am, lol.

5) I have an addiction to Wet Wipes. I keep a package in my purse, in my car, and on my desk. I think they're good for cleaning just about anything. Especially, children's faces. I can't stand sticky hands and faces. Any child "of mine" knows that the first thing one does after eating is wipe hands and face. Don't try to fight it, because I will win.

6) Lydia (the 18 month old that my mom watches sometimes) and I have this thing. I'll look at her and go, "Heeeyyyyyy" while moving my head around. She thinks it's hysterical and will copy me. Well, last week, I was checking my email before church and she was eating breakfast in her highchair. She kept going, "Gecka, Gecka, GECKA!!!" Finally, I looked at her and said, "Yes, Lydia?"..... she smiled at me and said, "HEEEYYYYYYY!" and moved her little head around. I about died laughing. That was the first time she did it to me without me doing it to her, first.

7) I will eat sour cream if it's from a restaurant (like with fajitas), but don't like it at home. I know that's slightly backwards, but getting the sour cream from the tub grosses me out.

I'm passing this award on to.........

Marianne from Diary of a Fickle White Woman
Paige from Live, Laugh, Love
KJ from kj..... as herself
Keely from MannLand5
Mrs. Potts from Experiments in a Galley Kitchen

Marianne from Diary of a Fickle White Woman gave me the Super Comments Award.

I. adore. Marianne.

She's absolutely hysterical and honest. I'm dying for her to come visit me.

I'm supposed to answer these questions for this award......

1. Why do you blog?

I use blogging as a scrapbook of my life, mainly. Five, ten years from now, I'd like to have a place to go and have records of my experiences and thoughts.

2. What was your favorite age to be and why?

There have been good and bad points, I guess, to every year. High school was fun.

25 was awesome. I loved 25.

26 has been a little rough. Still have had some great times..... still have a lot to be grateful for..... but, 26 has been a bit rough, lol.

3. What's your favorite sport to play?

Um, I cheered and I dance. And, I pretend to play softball.

4. What's your favorite sport to watch, and who's your favorite team?

I don't really like to watch sports on TV. I don't mind watching it live, but only every now and again. It's more for the food and atmosphere than the actual game.

That said, I bleed Blue and Orange (GO GATORS!). The game I went to at Fenway was the only game where my book didn't come out, therefore I consider myself a Red Sox fan. And, I like basketball, but have no particular favorite.

5. If you could pick your perfect career (and money doesn't matter / the kids are out of the house) what would it be?

I feel like I'm doing it.

There are other things that I think I'd like to do........ work on a soap opera, work on a movie, work on a concert tour, etc..... but, overall I'm doing what I feel is my perfect career. It's the business that I've always wanted to be in.

6. Do you ever feel guilty for blogging?

Not really.

7. What is your favorite holiday?

Christmas, Thanksgiving, and my birthday.

Yes, my birthday is a holiday.

8. What's your favorite kind of music?

I like pretty much everything. However, if you look at my IPod, you'll find mostly Country and Pop (which is pretty broad, but you get what I'm saying).

9. Do you consider yourself a good driver or bad driver?

I'm a pretty good driver.

10. What's the farthest away place you have visited?

Actual distance - California.

I'm passing this award onto....

Lil Woman from Little Woman, Little Home
Justine from Almost There
Melissa from Little Miss Married
Brittany from Living in the Moment
Gina from Namaste by Day

I love some mac and cheese but I am strictly Velveeta or homemade now...powdered stuff doesn't cut it anymore.

Everyone has to love Gina, how could you not. We need a big blogger meetup where Gina's presence is absolutely there. :)

Thanks for the award sweets!

My psych roommate from junior year that I despise HATES mac & cheese unless it's the velveeta stuff. You, I like, so I won't make fun of you, but she's just a freak ;)

Thanks for the award! Hopefully I'll remember to do it. I feel like I've been really bad about all things blog related lately.

And, I adore you too :) Still trying to figure out a good weekend to come!!!!! But it will happen! It MUST :)

Yay for blog awards. That is awesome. I love them because I get to usually learn more about the people who receive the awards.
