'Waiting to Exhale' Wednesday

Hi, people.

I don't know about you, but I'm exhausted. So exhausted that I skipped my workout this evening (bad girl), came home, put my jammies on, and turned on last week's The Vampire Diaries.

I'm so exhausted that I haven't conjured up the brainpower and energy to write my recap from my Girls' Weekend. Bad, I know. I promise I'll do it.

But, this week has been tough. In fact..... I blew up at work today. Then, I broke down and cried. For an hour. Then, about two hours later, someone said something and I started crying again. I'm usually a calm and level-headed person. Just in general. So, it's pretty bad when I'm having meltdowns at work.

And, while I'm sure it's bad form and unprofessional to completely meltdown, I'm at least lucky in that the people in my building are used to it. It happens on a weekly basis. It used to be daily, but those people either quit or retired. So, they are used to it. And, they realize that if Jessica is melting down, it's BAD.

So, as I'm sitting here trying to recoup, I thought about how I couldn't wait to just relax..... to not worry about everything happening at work..... to stop holding my breath and exhale.

Therefore, I starting something. It's called "Waiting to Exhale" Wednesday. If someone already has something like this (or named this), let me know and I'll cease and desist. However, I haven't seen it and I need it. So, I'm starting it.

This Wednesday, I'm looking forward to......

..... having lunch with Marylou on Friday. Marylou was my tap teacher growing up and is like my 2nd mom.

..... going to a movie. I've decided that sometime this weekend, I'm going to see a movie. I don't know which one or when, but it's going to happen.

.... Easter, when there is candy and good food.

.... my new Sunday school class. I kind of like it and am hoping this "trial" run turns into a permanent group.

What are at least three things that you are looking forward to this weekend or early next week?

Random Question Sunday

I LOVE this!! Keely from MannLand5 does this every Sunday, but today's questions are from the mind of a man, lol.

1 - Why did you start blogging?

I started blogging because I was reading all of these random blogs.... they all were like these digital scrapbooks of their lives and I loved the idea. I wanted a place where I could write my thoughts and experiences and put all the pictures I take.

2 - Who's the one blog friend that you would want to meet most in "real life"?

There are a lot of bloggers I'd love to meet in real life!!! I've been blessed to meet three and we just got back from a super fun girls' weekend.

3 - Why are you always concerned with losing that "extra 10 pounds" when chances are your husband/boyfriend/friends tell you that you look just fine the way you are?

I'm concerned about losing, like, 40 pounds, lol. And, it's not for a man or his opinion.... it's because I am uncomfortable in my skin and want to look better for me.

4 - What's the one thing you wish guys could understand about you?

That I'd just like a response.... even if it's not the one I want to hear, lol.

I wish guys understood that just because I'm "wife material" that doesn't mean you have to marry me (or that I want to marry you) in order to date me, lol. I've always been told that I'm the wife and not the girlfriend. Well, arranged marriages aren't really the "in" thing these days, so you're going to have to try out the girlfriend, first.

5 - Tattoos. How many do you have and how many are visible when you wear your "everyday" clothes?

Zero..... boring, I know.

6 - What was the best year of your life and why?

Last year (25) was pretty great, for a multitude of reasons. I've had other good years, too, but age 25 was pretty spectacular.

7 - Name three things you would do if you were a man for one day.

Walk around shirtless..... pee standing up..... not wait in line for the bathroom.

8 - What's your alcoholic drink of choice that usually raises a few eyebrows?

Usually, eyebrows raise when I drink, period. I'm not a huge or frequent drinker, and people get a little giddy when I do drink, lol.

There was some yumminess this weekend that I WILL be drinking, again, lol. Also, I get vodka and cranberry.

Overheard this weekend.......

If you were in the vicinity of Orlando in the past 48 hours, you may or may not have heard the following...

"Can we all agree not to steal each other's kidneys?"

"Are you that guy who cleaned up my puke last night?"

"Why are we making the poor non-Orlando girl do all the driving?"

"Hello, period whisperer."

"Are we supposed to be praying or some sh*t like that?"

"You’re my surrogate for my mixed race baby."

"I want a bite of yours."

"Just cause you’re homeless, doesn’t mean you can’t be fresh."

"What lane do I get in?"...... (in unison) "The LEFT!!"..... "Left-left or right-left?"

"I'm scared.... I don't want her to get sick. I mean, this is only the second time I’ve met you people."

"I had never heard about cervical mucus before tonight.... now, I feel like I know more than I ever needed to know."

"You need to marry him, so you can have my Asian baby."

"I need to rub lotion all over these thighs and lay spread eagle, for a while."

“I’m waddling”...... “It’s okay it’s good practice for being pregnant.”

"Don't say anything funny for a minute..... she's about to spit out her water."

"Ladies, I think we've now met Lester the Molester."

"Ro.... You're cheating on us and I don't like it."

"We’re not classy enough for this stuff."

“What’s the Sec?”..... “Uh, you mean S.E.C.?”

"No, the important thing is..... What would Gina do?"

The absolute best line uttered all weekend......

“I think they’re all bloggers.” ~ ~ ~ whispered

Stay tuned for a full recap!!!

In 24 Hours.......

My Girls' Weekend will be underway!!!

I am SO excited to hang out with these great ladies.....

Wednesday, March 24, 2010

Well, darnit.... that didn't work out like I thought it would.

We all know about The Guy.

Well, I've mentioned my attempts to move on or give other guy's a shot. Let's be honest.... I don't try very hard and am not very successful, but we're working on it. Let's be doubly honest.... there aren't a ton of men knocking down my door.

However, there has been one "distraction" that has lasted longer than most distractions and with whom I've enjoyed flirting with, pretty continuously. We shall call him "Fun Distraction" from here on out, ok?

Many people think FD is "sweet" on me. I could buy that, sometimes. If so, he has some stepping it up to do. Yes, I realize this sounds a little absurd when comparing anyone who seems sweet on me to other people to a guy who won't respond to a letter. Just go with me on this.

FD is a nice enough guy. He and I get along just fine. There are some things that I really like about him and there are some things that make me go, We're just going to see how this goes.

A big problem with FD is his tendency to act like he's interested.... but then just not.

For instance................

We have a mutual friend who we both just met and who has been pretty insistant on all three of us getting together. She's a whole story, for another post, but long story short, she's been trying to get us all together for like 6 weeks. Friday, she suggested lunch the next day. That wouldn't work, so FD calls me to see if breakfast would work because, "I keep blowing her off and I feel kind of bad."

We ended up going to breakfast on Saturday and had a good time. While discussing our plans for the rest of the day, FD and I both realized we were going to the same event that night. His words, "Oh, good. I thought about not going, but since I'll have someone to hang out with...."

Then, he called me later on in the day to make sure I'd be there.

So, I thought, "Ok, let's give this a shot."

Because as much as I was looking forward to the event (it's actually a REALLY fun event), I was also dreading it. See, last year, I was with TG all night. It was such a non-date, but I left the event completely confused as to what was going on. You can read about it, if you wish..... Last year's non-date that certainly felt like one.

I just was a little sad that this year wasn't going to include him, so the prospect of having someone new to associate it with was quite appealing.

I got there, met up with some people from work, and started making the rounds. Then I met up with Fun Distraction. Throughout the evening, we kept drifting away from each other and then back into each other's vicinity. He's a social butterfly and kept running into people he knew. He would either talk with them or hang with them for a while. We hung out for a while and then would go our separate ways.

At one point, he goes, "I'll be back. I'm going to grab a water."

I asked him if he minded grabbing me one. He said sure and went about it.

Fifteen minutes later, I went and got a Diet Coke because I was getting really thirsty. As I was walking out the door, he saw me and goes, "Hey! All the water was gone. Sorry!"

I told him it was ok because I found a drink and then told him good-bye.

Now..... overall, all of this is fine. Because, we weren't there together. And, that was very evident.

The problem is that I compare it to last year and here is where FD comes up short.......

* TG went to go get water..... he asked me if I wanted one.... then, he brought one back to me.

* FD acted like he was so excited to hang out and then we barely did...... whereas TG made no promises and yet barely left my side.

* A couple people mistook TG and I as being "together"....... No one would have made that mistake about FD and I.

* A while ago, Mary cited that event last year as the first time of many that she would look at TG and I together and think, "Hmmmmm.... I wonder if more is going on there than just friendship."........... She saw FD and I a lot that night and didn't seem phased, at all.

It hit me while I was driving home that TG and I weren't together last year, but we fell into this rhythm without even trying. We were just this unit. In my post from a year ago, I kept saying "it felt like a date, even though it wasn't one."  Maybe I'm just expecting too much, but that just didn't happen (and really hasn't ever) with FD. He's a nice guy and we have fun, but when we were hanging out, he did his thing and I did mine. Period.

I get that I'm overthinking it. I do. It was just really frustrating.

And it's a pattern..... FD acts like he's all about spending time with me, but then when it comes down to it and we're supposed to be hanging out...... he starts the whole social butterfly thing.

Like I said, I'm frustrated. I'm not completely writing FD off, but it's annoying to try to legitimately move on and walk away feeling like it's not working. Maybe I'm being unfair, though.

Questions Answered.....

I love answering fun questions! Thanks for some great ones! If you have any others, feel free to ask.

First one.... it was emailed to me by someone who I'll just leave nameless.... Here's a question for you..... Why do you feel the need to BRAG about all the people you've met and your trips to theme parks and your super fabulous job? It's really kind of rude.

Sorry. That's not my intention, at all.

I'm not trying to brag or anything.... honestly. I'm just excited by a fun experience. And, while I like to share it with the people that read my blog, I'd write about it even if it was a private blog that no one read. This blog is like my scrapbook. I take a lot of pictures (clearly) and I like having a story to go along with them. Rather than keep everything in a folder in my computer (which happens to about 85% of the pictures I take), I can have a place to put everything together. Years from now, no one is going to care about me meeting Taylor Swift or any other person (you may not care now, lol), but *I'll* get to look back on a fun night with my friends and the really cool opportunity I got.

Marianne wanted to know... What's one goal you hope to achieve by the time you're 30?

I have a few....

1) I want to travel to Italy.

2) I'd like to be down to my goal weight (actually, I'd rather be there before my HS reunion, lol).

3) I'd like to be married or on-the-way..... I realize that THIS, more than probably anything, is really out of my control and will only happen in God's timing. I just hope that God's timing is before I'm 30.

There are other things that I'd like to do in the next..... eek..... few years, but those are three major ones.

Brittany Ann answered her own question, but I'll also respond.....

I get to see you in a week!!!!!! I'm SOOOO excited!! You do realize that I may decide that you and Ivy simply CANNOT move, right?!

Lil Woman asked.... Do you see yourself in radio and broadcasting for awhile? If there any other careers that you have been interested?

I really do think I'll be here, for a while! I've always wanted to be in the entertainment industry, but never really considered radio. I sort of fell into it and love it.

I don't know if I'll stay at my current company/position, forever. If it works out that way.... that's great. I do love where I'm at! If I move on.... that's great, too. I love radio, I love promotions, and I love the music industry. There are several different things that I could see myself doing, but I'll probably always stay in the entertainment realm.

To be perfectly honest, I've never really wanted to do something else. It's always been "anything in the entertainment industry that I could get a job for that is legally, morally, and ethically acceptable." There are other things that I am interested in and am good at (teaching, psychology), but they have never been my passion.

Mrs. Potts asked...... I'd like to know how you got into radio & if there was ever anything else you wanted to do.

Like I said, above, I've always wanted to be in the enertainment business..... and, really, that's the only thing I've ever wanted to do. There are certainly other things that I considered as a "back-up" but not really, lol.

As for radio, specifically, I literally just fell into it. I graduated with a Communications degree and a Dance/Theater minor. My degree was mainly focused in TV and Film.... there was also some Journalism and Advertising/Marketing involved (though those both had their own majors). We did have a campus radio station and like two radio courses, but it was barely on the radar for anyone (and certainly not mine!).

When I graduated, I literally had NO CLUE what I was going to do with my life. College was rough on me in a personal sense.... a lot of death, etc, throughout those four years. I was really unhealthy, unhappy, scared, and had very little confidence in myself when it came to "making it" in the world. I toyed with the idea of going to NYC or LA to try to make it in the business. But, I needed an internship in order to get my diploma and I just needed some sort of experience, period, before attempting anything.

My hometown has always had a pretty big country station. It's heard in 32 counties in Florida. There are also 3 other stations. Well, when you're looking for an internship in the entertainment business and you don't feel like fighting all the other go-getters in the Clear Channel type companies, you go to your hometown, privately owned establishment.

I contacted the station about an internship and the only thing available was in the Promotions Dept. I was like, Sign me up. The first couple months, I just marked time. I enjoyed the environment and the people, but I was still in the "checking it out" stage. Then, I slowly started to open up around Tunie and Dave.... the Director and her Asst.

When my internship was up, I told them that I'd continue until the St Jude Radiothon. They were needing the help and it sounded like a good opportunity. The Radiothon is when I fell in love with radio and Tunie/Dave really started to notice me as a person that they could count on.

From then, I started taking an active role in learning as much as I could about whatever I could. I'd bug people to teach me different skills. "The Guy" offered to show me how to set-up remotes..... I went out with him to almost every remote he had for the entire summer. I was probably the world's slowest learner *wink-wink*, but when we were both confident that I knew what I was doing, they hired me on part-time to do set ups and to occasionally stand in for a Salesperson. That led to board operating.... which led to helping produce a couple of weekly shows.... which led to my own airshift. Meanwhile, I stayed in the Promotions Dept and became the 3rd (unpaid) member of their team. I would go in there after school (I subbed) and before dance (I taught) or when I had a day off and just do whatever needed to be done. When life was particularly busy, I'd go in during the evenings/nights and work..... this was also when I spent a lot of time with TG as we were the only two in the building, a lot of the time.

I worked my way around the building and learned as much as I could. Meanwhile, I had multiple part-time jobs, lol. I loosely applied for other jobs in radio, TV, etc and looked into various Grad schools. My main line of thinking was that I was getting a TON of experience. Tunie kept saying that if I stuck it out, I'd eventually have her job.

3 1/2 years after I started there as an intern, she left and I got my job! A year later, I'm still learning as much as I can. It's amazing how much I've learned in the past year.

That was a REALLY long answer, lol. But, again, I now have it on record, lol.

Paige and Gina want to know..... What's happened with THE GUY since your facebook convo???

The short answer......... Not much.

The much longer answer........

After the Radiothon, I emailed him about it. It was something that both of us feel strongly about and our last conversation was about the Radiothon (I was in Memphis, at St Jude). So, I emailed him. He read it like an hour later, but didn't respond. I basically just shook my head and took it for what it was.

Five days later, I saw his best friend out in public. I've never formally met the guy. I've just heard so much about him that I feel like I know him. And, I've seen pictures of him, so I recognize him. I have no idea if he knows me from Adam’s housecat, but the two times I’ve seen him out in public, he looks at me kind of like he recognizes me (sort of like I look at him…. like, I know who you are, but I don't know if I'm supposed to acknowledge that because I'm not sure if I was talked about to you like you were to me).

Less than two hours after seeing the BFF, I got a response from TG. The two are probably unrelated, but I thought it was ironic, lol.

Here's what the email said....

Sorry for not getting back to you. You didn't put a subject and I think clicked on it a while ago, but didn't get a chance to read it. What kind of drama happened? How was St Jude rep?? Was the funny dude back??

Hope all is well..

The Guy

Slightly lame, if you ask me. Especially the excuse for taking 5 days to return an email when he used to respond within minutes or hours. I responded with some of the details he was asking for (ignoring the lame excuse or answering whether or not I was doing well). Never heard back.

We've had ZERO contact since. He literally went into hiding, for a little while. He wasn't on FB or anything. For the past couple of weeks, he has been online a lot, at night. We're not chatting like we used to, but he's on there. I'm not sure if he even wants to talk, you know? I mean, we used to chat for as long as two hours, a couple nights a week. At this point, we basically haven't talked at all in over two months.

I really miss him. I'm trying not to, but I do. A couple weeks ago, I had a SUPER rough day at work and I so badly wanted/needed to talk to him about it. He was always the one I talked with about that stuff because we both had very similar outlooks on the company. I didn't, though.

I have NO idea what he's thinking or if he misses me. He certainly doesn't seem to, but who knows. I mean, how do you go from talking to someone all the time to just not and not miss the person? Also, he used to comment on my FB page, all the time. Pictures, statuses, etc.... all the time. So much so, that I had a couple friends ask me, "So..... who is the guy who is always on your FB page?" Now? Nothing. I have no idea how you can go from checking out someone's page so much to just not, lol.

Anyway, I'm slowly moving on. Like I said, I try not to miss him, even though I still do. At least it doesn't hurt as badly as it did. For a while, it wasn't fun, at all.

I'd still like to visit Minnesota someday (despite the fact that I probably won't be visiting The Guy when I do). Before August 24, 2009, I had absolutely NO desire to ever visit that state. In fact, it was a state I usually forgot about. Since then, I'm constantly coming across it - in books, on TV, etc, etc, etc. In fact, the other day I was watching a show and the people ended up being in the same exact town that TG moved to..... random! So, I've decided that I'd like to completely give into it and visit one day. As much as Minne-friggin-sota has had an effect on my life in the past 7 months, I figure I owe it a visit, lol.

Random Question Sunday

I love Sundays and this one reason why, lol. Head over to MannLand5 and join the weekly fun!

The questions....

1. What year did you graduate high school?

2001.... getting real close to that 10 year mark. I just started a new Sunday School class, last week. A girl that I graduated with is also in there. She was always kind of quiet.... we hung out a little in 9th grade, but not after. It's kind of interesting to get to know her, now. It's also really funny how much our school shaped both of us, even though we didn't run in the same group of friends.

2. What part of your body do you neglect the most?

I'm going to say my back (upper and lower), simply because it's sooooo sore, lately. Apparently, I don't take very good care of it.

3. Beach house or Lake house?

Lake House, I think.

4. Mac or PC?

I like Macs, just fine. I had to use one while I was in college. However, I own a PC.

5. Did you wear braces?

I did... for like 2 years. The funny part was that my best friend and I ended up getting our braces off a day apart. She was like the afternoon (after school) and I was the next morning (before school). We were joined at the hip, as it was, so people actually thought that we planned it that way. We really didn't.... we didn't even have the same orthodontist.... but, people thought we did, lol.

6. If you could be one person for a day..living or deceased..who would you be?

Hmmmm..... I have no idea.

7. How many times have you moved in your life?

Three times...... and, I am NOT a fan.

8. Would you rather cook or clean?

I prefer to bake.

Five Question Friday

I'm sitting on the internet, during a broadcast at Universal, lol, so here's another one, today.

Check out MamaM and Five Question Friday....

1. Have you ever had a celeb sighting?

Um, soooo many. Part of it is the job, but I've always been into celebrities/actors/performers and met many before I got this job. The very first? Lindsay Alley from MMC: The New Mickey Mouse Club. I loved that show as a kid and she is from my hometown.... I was like 7 and ran into her at a hometown event. I was so starstruck, lol.

2. What temperature do you keep your house?

Too friggin cold. I live with other people and they like the place to be an Ice Palace.

3. Do you notice dust at other peoples homes?

Um...... if it's really bad, I might.

4. What's the worst job you ever had?

I worked at a WIC store. Like Women, Infant, and Children. It was a gorcery store that ONLY took WIC checks and only had the items on the checks.

It had its ok points, but the owners weren't nice. And, there was a rat problem. I told them that they weren't paying me enough to pick up or go near dead rats, period. The best part? Getting hit on by the guys that came in. Um, you already have one (or more) small child.... No Thanks.

 5. What is your most sentimental possession?

This is hard because I'm a very sentimental person. I have a hard time throwing things away, especially if someone gave it to me or if it represents a great memory. That said, if there were a fire, I'd grab my photo albums and a cross necklace that I got after my step-dad died (it actually has some of his ashes in it).

Fill In The Blank Friday

Jess from Living On Sweet Tea played this little game and I thought it looked like fun!

You can head over to Lauren's blog.... The Little Things We Do.... to grab the blanks and play.

1. Today I am wearing a purple t-shirt with a pretty butterfly on it, jeans, and black flip flops. We're broadcasting from Universal, today, so it's a total fun clothes day.

2. My favorite childhood food was fruit and fried okra and my favorite food now is um, a lot of stuff, lol.

3. A day that I am too busy to check Facebook, Blogger, and/or call Heidi and Jeni is a day that I am too busy.

4. The last movie I saw was When In Rome (I think) and the next movie I want to see is Alice In Wonderland, The Bounty Hunter, and The Back-up Plan.

5. My favorite smell is rain because, it makes everything smell so clean (weird, I know).

6. A weird little quirk I have is ..... I have SO many quirks. For starters, I don't like my food to touch and I eat one thing at a time (all of an item before I move to the next). I'm super protective of my yearbooks (even now).... I always hated it when anyone would write on an actual page (rather than all the blank pages). Those are just two, lol. It gets worse.

7. When I take personality quizzes they always say I'm mostly an introvert with random touches of extrovert. It's the truth. I'm really pretty quiet and shy, unless I'm in my element or in a weird mood, lol. I was always the little girl who wouldn't talk to her parents' friends when they came over, but I would stand on the coffee table and sing and dance for them, lol.

One of my new favorites.....

Chuck Wicks

If you aren't a fan of Country or Dancing With The Stars, you probably have no clue who I'm talking about, lol. Chuck has had a couple of singles and was on DWTS.

After a season of dancing and a year of touring, he's on a radio tour to kind of reintroduce himself to radio and plug his upcoming album. To be perfectly honest, I haven't really been a fan, until this afternoon.

H.Y.S.T.E.R.I.C.AL.

Oh my gosh, he was SO funny. At one point, we were laughing so hard that he couldn't sing. Then, he started to try, but had to close his eyes so he couldn't see us. I actually had to turn my chair around to face a corner, because I was literally about to pee my pants, laughing.

His new songs were actually really good, too. And, let's face it, he's not bad to look at, lol.

If you listen to Country, keep an ear out for his upcoming single!!

J and Chuck checking their own pulses, lol (or making fun of his new single's album art).

Doing the Celebrity Giraffe pose.....

They SO do not like each other.

Ok.... a normal one....

And, my turn! Please excuse my no make-up face (didn't quite get to it this morning, lol)....

I'm still going to answer your questions..... just got side-tracked, lol. If you are wondering anything, feel free to ask!

Tuesday, March 16, 2010

I'm lacking in anything interesting to say, lol.

I have no idea why, but I can't think of a THING to say.

Usually, I would just stay quiet..... however, I'm even tired of that.

So, I'm going to follow the crowd and ask you if there's anything that you'd like to ask me.

I don't have a ton of followers, but for those of you that read..... 1) I thank you, 2) I love you!, and 3) If there's anything you're wondering about me that you'd like to ask, ask away!

Thoughts from the couch

1) Food poisoning sucks. I know this from recent (as in Weds/Thurs) experience.

2) As much as I love my job, I'm seeing some major downfalls, recently. I don't quite know what to do with it, just yet.

3) I'm truly dedicated to my job and have proof.....

a) While I was um....... getting sick...... I was literally thinking to myself, "I canNOT be sick.... I have way too much to do at work."

b) The morning after, I still attempted to get up and go to work. Only, I only made it about three steps down the stairs before I had to sit down and call my boss to tell him I wouldn't be in. Once I was able to get all the way down the stairs, I logged onto my work email to forward some things that HAD to be taken care of that day.

c) I went to work on Friday, even though I still felt yucky. I lasted until about 3:15 and then cut out. Most of my coworkers would have totally milked a Friday off after being sick on Thursday.

4) I need to stop being married to my job, so that I can work on eventually being married to a real person.

5) The reason I'm thinking so much about marriage and my job is because the Small Group (Juniors and Seniors in High Schools - girls) that meets at my house every Sunday is currently in my kitchen eating cookies and Pizza Rolls and talking about their future weddings.

6) I ate two cookies and a Pizza Roll..... and my stomach doesn't like me for it, right now. I've eaten nothing but rice and soup for the past four days. For once, something smelled good. Only, it was a mistake.

7) The Bomb Episode on Grey's Anatomy is one of the best EVER. I still love it, even in reruns. Seriously, the dialogue on that show is some of the best.

8) I hate "Springing Forward." It's 7:45 and it's still light outside and it's weird.

9) I bought those Sketchers Shape-Ups last weekend. I hope they live up to their self-proclaimed hype.

10) I love The Amazing Race and can't wait for it to come on in 15 minutes.

Random Question Sunday

You know the drill, by now.... Head over to MannLand5 and join in on the fun!

The questions.....

1. What's your favorite Easter candy?

Starburst Jelly Beans!!!

2. Who do you think is cleaner..men or women?

I'm going to go with women, on general principle. I know if you compared me to my brother, I'm definitely the cleaner.

On the other hand, "The Guy" is a bit of a clean freak. I know, I'm not supposed to talk about him, anymore. Baby steps, people. I just know that his desk, his car, and his apartment were always immaculate. My workspace, my car, and my living space is cluttered, at all times. I, however, was always the one that kept wet wipes in my purse and would wipe down the table when we went out to eat, much to his amusement.

3. Which do you prefer..wordy blog posts or ones with pictures?

I like a mixture of both!

4. Were you popular in highschool?

Not really. I wasn't necessarily unpopular, though. I graduated in a class of 56, so everyone knew everyone. I was in the smart group, the cheerleading group, the "volunteer" group (you know, the group that always volunteered to do anything and was on every committee there was), the Newspaper/Yearbook group, etc.

All that and I still didn't get nominated "Most Involved." I still protest that. I was more involved than the person who got it..... she was just a bit louder about her involvement.

5. What's your bra size?

I do not know.... I'm in desperate need of new bras.

6. How many states have you lived in?

One..... I've lived in the same town (practically the same zip code) my entire life, lol.

7. What's one blog you read every day?

Pretty much anyone I follow! I will admit that if I'm in a hurry, I'll skip around to my girls that I met.

8. Peanut butter or Nutella?

I've never eaten Nutella. It's Crunchy Peanut Butter, for me!

I love parades.... especially blog ones.....

I'm sorry, I love these things!!!

1. What's your favorite time of the day, and why?

In between work and bedtime..... because, well, it's the time that I get to do what I want.

2. If health wasn't an issue, what food could you live off of?

Can I say Italian food? I love carbs and rich sauces.

3. If you could have one wish granted (besides wishing for more wishes), what would it be?

Um..... I don't know. I would have a lot of wishes, some of them good for me and some of them not, lol.

4. What's one thing that you get teased about a lot?

When I was a kid..... my poor athletic skills. I HATED PE.

Now?.... My tendency not to cuss. Don't get me wrong, I do cuss (more than I should). Just not as often as a lot of people (especially in radioland), so they think it's amusing. It kind of goes hand-in-hand with the "All-American Girl Next Door" image. I get teased for being (or appearing to be) too wholesome, sometimes.

5. If you could choose one movie, book, or TV show to spend your life in, which would you pick? What type of character would you be?

Oh, man! Possibly Allie from The Notebook? I mean, she found herself a winner and had a pretty great life in a great time, all around.

Or General Hospital or All My Children..... I've always wanted to be in a soap opera. They sure do have to deal with a lot, but they have a lot of money and barely work.

6. If you could have one talent that you don't already have, what would it be?

Singing. I'd love to be able to sing.

7.If money were no object, where would you go on vacation?

Italy..... I'd do it up big, too.

8. If you were an awesome singer, which genre would you sing?

Country or something Colbie Caillat-ish

9. If you could have a $10,000 shopping spree to one store, what would it be?

Um....... I'm going to be lame and say Target. Target has pretty much everything you'll ever need.

10. If you could live in any point in time, when would it be?

I like now.

11. If every outfit in your wardrobe had to be one color, what would it be?

Blue. There are so many shades and I like most of them.

12. If you were one of the seven dwarves, which one would you be?

(Doc, Grumpy, Sneezy, Sleepy, Bashful, Happy, or Dopey)

I'm going to go with a cross between Doc and Happy.

13. What's the last album you listened to?

I actually just listened to all of Lady Antebellum's music, the other day. Both albums.

LOVE them.

14. What's something we'd be surprised to know about you?

I'm not sure there's anything people would be surprised to know.

Random Question Sunday....

Head over to Mann Land5 and join in on the fun!

The questions..

1. Are you more of a talker or a listener?

Mainly, a listener. There are some people with whom I'm really, really talkative. For the most part, though, you'll find me being the quiet one at the table.

2. Bra. Underwire or wireless?

Wire...... these girls require wire.

3. I wish I was.....?

..... over "The Guy" completely.

.... able to eat whatever I want and not gain weight.

.... a little less wussy, sometimes.

4. The Academy Awards are on tonight..will you watch?

I am watching as I type this, lol.

5. Do you put your deodorant on before or after you get dressed?

Before.... it goes on right after I put on my facial moisturizer and right before I comb out my hair. Clearly I have a routine that I rarely deviate from.

6. Would you rather do the dishes or clean toilets?

I'm probably in the minority, but toilets. I HATE dirty dishwater. It makes me gag.

Ironically, I don't have a problem cleaning a toilet. They have long brushes and stuff.

7. How much did you weigh at birth?

6 lb 7 oz..... Then, because of some complications I had I got down to just over a pound. I was over a year old before I weighed 10 lbs.

I've spent the rest of my life making up for it, lol.

8. If you could only buy one thing for the Spring/Summer season..what would it be?

A new bathing suit that I actually like on me. I live in Florida, I have everything I need for summer. It has been these weeks and weeks of cold to freezing weather that I've not been prepared for, lol.

A Day (or two) in the Life

I haven't participated in one of Kelly's Korner blog carnivals in a while, but I thought this was so fun! I know I'm a little late to the party, but oh well, lol......

This week's is "A Day in the Life." Since the past few days have kind of run together, I thought I'd combine.... if you don't mind.

Wednesday

5:30pm - Try to get out of work when I receive a press release on some pretty important information.... the previously sold out Taylor Swift concert for the next night has some seats that just went on sale. Call boss to find out if he wants to buy some for a few major clients that have been hounding us for months.

7:00pm - Finally finish calling Sales Reps, buying tickets, and getting everything in order. Leave work. Go to Target to pick up a few items. Run to Chick-Fil-A.

9:30pm - Go to sleep.

Thursday

3:30am - Alarm goes off and overnight DJ calls me to make sure I'm awake.

3:40am - Actually get out of bed and into the shower.

4:45am - Arrive at station, pick up van, and head to remote location.

5:00am - Arrive at remote location and set up.

6-10am - Remote

10:30am - Get back to the station, get all of the prizes from the morning and night before organized and down to the front desk.

11am - 1:30pm - Answer emails, draft and send out proposals for upcoming concerts, put together recaps for past promotions, email our PD with a list of airchecks that I need him to get, speak with a really rude lady with our local community theatre, and try to get my Sales reps to get their clients to pick up their tickets.

1:30pm - Try to figure out what I'm going to eat for lunch. After much discussion with my intern, we both decide on a nearby bistro. She kindly runs out to get both of us lunch.

Until 2:30pm - Wrap up some loose ends that need to be taken care of before I can be done for the day.... answer emails and phone calls, draft a proposal for one of our clients, put in a time order and production order for an upcoming promotion.

2:30pm - Intern arrives back and says it was the longest line and slowest service on the face of the planet. We eat and chat.

3:15pm - Decide that I'm officially done for the day, as I've been up for close to 12 hours and have been working for 10. Begin to get ready for my Girl's Night Out.

4:00pm - Meet with M (at the station) and head out to J's house

4:40pm - Leave J's house

5:45pm - Hit major traffic and stress that we won't get to The Forum in time.

6:00pm - Arrive and breathe a sigh of relief that we'll make it.

6:15pm - Get to the designated area and being our night at the Taylor Swift concert.

11:00pm - Show over, head home.

12:00am - Home..... eat the McDonald's I'd picked up, update Facebook profile picture to me with TS, post teaser blog, wash face, brush teeth, and fall into bed at about 1:15am.

Friday

7:15am - Alarm goes off..... hit snooze until 7:40

8:30am - Leave house and head to Starbucks

8:40am - Head away from Starbucks and to work as I get a call that a listener is waiting on their prize (that they won THAT morning)

8:50 am - Get to work and get Mr. Quick-On-The-Draw his prize

9:00 - 10:30 - Get all prizes organized and down to the front desk, talk with a couple of the morning DJs about various ideas they have, gush with M about the night before and how friggin tired we were, send Intern to Starbucks since I never quite made it

10:30 - Gush with J about how great the night before was.

10:45 - 12:30 - Answer emails and phone calls, send off promotion recaps, get all of our St Jude EBay auctions together to mail.

12:30 - 2:00 - Enjoy a super long lunch with one of my friends, Holly. We hadn't seen each other for about 4 years..... it was SO great to catch up!!!

2:15pm - Get back to the station and barely get to see one of our record reps. Give him a hard time.

2:30pm - Call record rep's bluff......... he says that if I show up to the Orlando concert, there will be two tickets waiting for me.

2:35pm - Call Billie Jo and see if she wants to go.

2:40pm - 4:30pm - Frantically get emails answered, contests put together for the next week, and organize some prizes that had come in.

4:30pm - Boss tells me to leave if I'm going to make it in time.

4:40pm - Billie Jo picks me up from work and we head to Orlando (seriously wonder what I'm doing because I'm exhausted...... but, really, who gets this chance?)

6:15pm - Get to the arena, park, and get inside. Get food and find our seats.

7:00pm - Enjoy the WHOLE show as a spectator (lol, no special treatment.... just great free seats)

10:00pm - Leave the show before the encore.

11:30pm - Get back to the station, chat with the evening and overnight DJ, take the van home (remote the next day).

Saturday

12:30 am - Get home, chat with my family (I'd barely seen them for the past several days)

1:00 am - CRASH

10:00 - Get up and get ready for work

..... that's basically it. Work hard, play hard, lol.

Clearly, my typical day doesn't include Taylor Swift, lol. But, it is usually hectic, scattered, and full of contests/DJs/emails/organizing/meeting people/phone calls. I also try to get to the gym as often as possible and home to watch TV, lol.

Partying with the teenyboppers (and loving every minute of it)....

**** WARNING!!!!! - Extreme picture overload to follow!!!!! *****

Also, please excuse the astericks.... I'm trying to de-G**gle.

Back in October.... early October, I got a text from J, "Tayl*r Sw*ft, the Forum, March 4th..... Mark it down in your calendar!!" Um, hello!

Since that text, we've done an extreme amount of promotion for the concert.... both the T*mpa and Orl*ndo concerts. Both shows sold out almost immediately, but the record label was AWESOME and we got a lot of really great things to give away.

Most of our record label stuff was for the Orl*ndo show, but we were getting station tickets for Tamp* show. Jeni, Melissa, and I decided to make a Girls' Night out of it! We got out of work early and headed to T*mpa.

We knew that we had Meet and Greets, but had no clue what a treat we were in for......

The entrance into the "T Party."

It's decorated to look like the inside of a magic bottle, in the "T Party" room. There were several couches and chairs, TVs, a Fooseball table, and plenty of stereos.

Me, M, and J

The "wall" of fame..... Taylor did this herself.....

Taylor entered and there was a small group of girls, waiting at the entrance. They were sooooo cute and excited to see her. She spent several minutes with each of them, talking and asking them questions.

When it came time for our group, she hugged us all and thanked us for coming. Seriously, this is one extremely poised young woman.

BFFs, for sure, lol

After spending some time with us, she moved on to the next group. It was basically the radio stations and their various DJs/programers. We joked around because it was pretty segregated.... after all, we're not supposed to like each other. However, despite the competition, there are some friendships that cross.

When she was done meeting with everyone, she stood up on the couch and addressed the whole group. This was the kickoff to her American tour and she was so excited and grateful. She thanked us for the support throughout her young career.

Our time with Taylor was then up....... however, her mom offered to show us around the backstage area. Let me just say........... not only was I living every 8 year old girl's fantasy, I was in heaven. I am a behind-the-scenes junkie. I live for this stuff!

Video World..... every bit of video you see during the show is controlled from this area. Taylor sat down and helped choreograph her entire show from start to finish, including the video elements.

There were signs pointing to various departments and rooms all over. I wish I would have taken a picture of the sign that said "Everything this way" lol. Her mom said that as soon as they get to an arena, they set up camp. They have a miniature city set up and make sure everything is as clear as possible. She also said that on the rare occasion that they play the same place for two or three nights, they love to set up bonfires in the parking lot. They LOVE getting to chill and feel like that place is a little more familiar.

This way to Taylor Swift's dressing room ->

Behind the stage while Gloriana was performing....

Taylor's mom and I

See that little white area? That's her quick change room underneath the stage.

The view from the stage (or as close as I'll ever get).... seriously, how awesome is it?

After the tour, we went back up to the main level and met with a couple of our record reps. It was almost time for the main event, so we found our seats (also awesome.... center stage, about 8 rows back).

The Girls waiting for the show to start.

Cute story.... there was an adorable teenage goup sitting next to us. The girl next to us turned to me and said, "I sing really loudly and really badly. I hope you don't mind." I said, "Don't worry.... I do, too. We'll get along just fine." She was like, "Oh good!! I was a little afraid that you might be mad at me and my teenybopper friends."

The best part? When they turned the lights off and starting playing Metro Station "Shake It" my friends and I were singing and dancing with as much enthusiasm as all those young girls, lol.

The show had begun!!!

You Belong With Me

Our Song

She is SO expressive and entertaining....

Why...... Her stage and sets were amazing. I tried to get as many picture of them as possible (obviously, lol).

We'd been told to head back to the sound board area after the 4th song, so we headed back there.

This was our view for about 3-4 songs, lol.....

I, of course, took the opportunity to take pictures of us, since I couldn't get pictures of the stage, lol.

Then, our obstructed view became the best seats in the house........

How freaking cute are these boots???.....

Amazing part.....Taylor's mom and some other people actually picked people from out of the audience to sit inside the sound board area during that part of the performance. I got such a kick out of watching those girls......

Back to our seats in time for "Love Story".....

That's The Way I Love You....

You're Not Sorry

Fairytale

Should've Said No

..... and, that was the end of the concert.

We booked it out of there and were able to beat traffic. Home was calling, but we had SUCH an awesome time.

LOL.... we were all dragg.ing the next morning.

And, an unlikey turn of events led me to repeating some of it on Friday night.......
