Two Megastars + Two Buses = One Night Never Forgotten

As the Promotions Director for my job, I tend to do lots of crazy things. In fact, on my work FB page, I have an album entitled, "Weird Things My Job Entails."

I mean, how many people do you know that have to buy a cartload of personal fans?

At least once or twice a year, we do a bus trip to a concert. I will have to share with you, one day, the very first one I did. It is a HUGE undertaking. Before I'd come along, my station hadn't done anything like that in at least ten years, so there was no model for me to follow. Plus, I'm really the only one in my department, so I have to use whatever interns I have or enlist the help of former interns.

Anyway, this year, Kenny Chesney and Tim McGraw joined together to do the "Brothers of the Sun" tour to be held at stadiums around the country. Our date was June 2nd. I had been working on this promotion for seven months, and my interns were literally finishing up their internships on this day. We had two buses of listeners with us, plus our on-air staff. You should see my binder of info that I keep to make sure I've got all my bases covered.

This was my car the day before the concert...........

The above was just to give you an idea of what that day was about. I always say that the most fun parts of my job are ALWAYS the most stressful. That is most certainly the case with this trip. However, thanks to the help I had (my interns really were the greatest), I actually was able to relax a little... a little... and have fun... intermittently when not putting out mini-fires.

Trev and I on the bus.

Trevor never is interested in going to concerts, but he all but begged me to be my plus one. He said he'd help me in any way I needed (and requested an official station shirt, lol). His sudden interest came in the fact that he became a Lambda Chi and Kenny is a "brother." Having Trev there made it a lot of fun...... when I got stressed or uptight, he'd do something crazy to make me laugh and loosen up.

Intern C and I... Love her. Shortly after this day, she got a full time job in NYC :)

Personal friends!! Jamie and Billie Jo....

We had a couple of listeners back out the day before the concert (yeah, I know.... crazy, right?) and I wanted seats filled, lol. They are always up for the challenge, so they met us at the stadium. Having them around made it feel more like a concert and less like work.

C and her sister B.... It was HOT. Those personal fans came in handy.

Jake Owen was the opening act. I adore him... his music is so fun. Plus, singing "Barefoot Blue Jean Night" really kicked off the concert in the right way :)

Grace Potter and the Nocturnals came on after Jake, but I was getting food during that time. Honestly, I couldn't understand why she came on after Jake.... she's really good, but she's not exactly well known in Country. But, whatever, lol.

Trev, Billie Jo, and Jamie..... Life of the party....

Tim McGraw came out first and did a full set...........

As much as I love Tim, there is nothing like a Kenny Chesney concert. I could not wait for him to hit the stage......

Intern N and I...... Hot sweaty messes by that point.....

Grace Potter came out to sing 'You and Tequila' with Kenny....

The show did not disappoint! It was awesome! The cool part is that I basically watched the show while on the job.

The stressful part came when it was time to get all of my listeners back on the bus, lol.

Your job sounds seriously cool.

And also? I don't understand how you look just as pretty at the end of the night as you did at the beginning. I need to know your secret.
