Day 14 - A Song That No One Would Expect You To Love
Buddy Holly - Weezer
It was a total favorite in like the 6th grade, lol. A couple years ago, I was walking through the halls of our station and this song was on. So, I'm singing it and one of the guys passed me, did an about-face, and asked incredulously, "Are you singing WEEZER, Jess?!?!?!"
It was hysterical, lol.
Gangsta Paradise - Coolio
Again, like a total favorite in 5th and 6th grade, lol. But, who doesn't love this song if you were raised in the mid-90s?
Another funny story......... I went to a private, Christian, and mainly Caucasion school K-12th grade. For our senior trip, we went on a mission's trip to Honduras. Our bus drivers throughout the week spoke little to no English, but had a fascination with American music. They were thrilled with their tapes of mainly 80's music and show tunes. However, about 3/4 through the week they brought out a tape they hadn't used before. We were all coming out of this indoor flea market and "Gangsta Paradise" was blaring out of the bus. Everyone starting singing/rapping as they were getting on the bus. It was comical to watch all these super white kids walk like gangsters and rap.

I like Buddy Holly too, it might be because of the Happy Days video..lol :)
I thought I was so hardcore when I knew the words to Gangsters Paradise....yeah I'm not that gangsta.
I LOVE both of those songs! I do not love that they were popular when you were in 6th grade. We won't discuss how old I was.
